20/20 Vision

Kelly came to the studio for some corporate head shots. As soon as I saw her I asked her to also consider being a part of our commercial division (Stock photography).

She really is the total package. Not only is she beautiful she is a chemist for a leading beauty care company. These head shots could possibly be sent to peer magazines as well as the corporate newsletter. At the same time, Kelly wanted these to express her own unique style and stand out from other head shots.

Kelly is the kind of client who wanted something unique. So I showed her some examples of ways she could interject her personality into the image (without offending the corporate elite). One of the things she expressed: a landscape orientation, automatically peaked my interest.

Kelly was great to work with and I look forward to seeing her portraits out there along with the next BIG thing in Beauty Care! Stay tuned for more about her Commercial Modelling career as well.

Dance like Nobody's watchin'~!

That is a line from a famous Country song. It certainly applies here.

When learning to take photographs, we are all told that the eyes are THE most important feature of our subject. Get the eyes right and you can tell their ENTIRE story.

In a lot of ways that is true; however, when photographing siblings, the eyes are the LAST thing to tell the story.

Claire (age 5) and her sister Molly (age 16 months) came in for some spring pictures. Their mother was a little disappointed in the fact that Claire didn't want to smile AND look at the camera (she would do ONE but not the OTHER). I usually just keep shooting and worry about the form later. (Thank you Photoshop).

You just never know when a moment like this will sneak into the frame.

This is by far one of my favorite shots (not just from that session, of all time). This explains so much. This is the nature of Claire and Molly's relationship. This shows Molly in a moment of wonderment. It is one of those honest moments that happen in a fleeting second, caught forever by a single shutter click.

Of course the images of these girls looking at the camera are lovely as well.
